Soprano and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Voice, Camille King joined the voice faculty of Southern Methodist University Meadows School of the Arts in 2010. King studied voice with French Canadian tenor Leopold Simoneau at the San Francisco Conservatory and later with American soprano Judith Raskin at the Manhattan School of Music. She received a Bachelor of Arts in French from the University of California.

King’s career in opera has included leading roles in productions with Rome Opera, Innsbruck Opera, San Francisco Opera, Minnesota Opera, Central City Opera, Chautauqua Opera and Colorado Opera Festival. She has also appeared as a featured soloist with the Los Angeles Master Chorale, the Virginia Symphony, Santa Barbara Symphony, the Tulsa Oratorio Society and the Los Angeles Mozart Orchestra. In Texas, she has performed with the Richardson Symphony, the Fort Worth Symphony, the Austin Symphony and Texas Camerata.

King has an active career in chamber music, recital and oratorio performances throughout the United States, and is particularly known for her interpretation of the works of Mozart, early music and French vocal repertoire. Recent performances of early music include engagements with members of the Philharmonia Baroque in Port Townsend, Wash. for their Centrum concert series; a program of French chamber music in Los Angeles, including La Bonne Chanson by Faure; Bach Cantatas 51 and 199 in Fort Worth and Dallas and chamber music of Schumann, Schubert and Donizetti in Dallas and Los Angeles.
